Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, Director of Commercial for Thai AirAsia, said Chumphon has been a long-awaited destination of AirAsia and we will be launching daily direct flights this 25 March 2018, further expanding our network of southern destinations.
Chumphon is among the secondary cities marked for economic and tourism development supported by the Thai government, while it is also a city of great tourism potential just waiting to grow in popularity. The province is home to scenic ocean fronts and pristine coral reefs, and boasts being Thailand’s biggest grower of Robusta coffee. All combined, the province is the ultimate destination for those wishing for relaxing by the sea and sipping a freshly-brewed cup of coffee.
“AirAsia’s addition of Chumphon makes it the airline with the most extensive network in the Thai south. We fly to 9 cities in the region on 19 routes and operate over 61 flights to the south daily, meaning travellers can fly there at their leisure. The new route is also responsive to the government’s policy to support secondary cities. AirAsia is confident the route will be well-received,” Mr. Santisuk added.
