Every year the Similan Islands National Park in Thailand has opened its gates to their beautiful, scenic shorelines to the public to allow divers from around the world experience diving with unique sea creatures and viewing majestic sunsets. There are nine islands that make up the Similan Islands – KoHuyong, KoPayang, KoPayan, KoMiang, Ko Ha, KoPayu, KoHinPousar, Ko Similan, and KoBangu. The Similan Islands National Park is only open to divers between October 15th and May 15th. The long off-season allows the area’s marine and wildlife to regenerate as well as allows local area residents to prepare for the monsoon season.
