Amatara Wellness Resort, one of Southeast Asia’s premier wellness resort & spa destinations, has changed its name from “Amatara Resort & Wellness” to “Amatara Wellness Resort” to strengthen its positioning for delivering comprehensive health and wellness. The change of name follows the signing of an MOU recently with Bangkok Hospital Phuket and Bangkok Airways. The new strategic partnership enables the resort to offer integrated health plans to promote the total wellbeing of customers in line with Amatara’s Eternal Happinessphilosophy. This is the first time the leading wellness resort has made an agreement with a hospital and airline in Thailand. The collaborative effort will also help to position Thailand as a leading integrated wellness destination.
Dr. Prattana Punnakitikashem, Managing Director, Amatara A Destination Spa, revealed, “Amatara recognizes the growth of the wellness market around the world, and especially in Thailand. According to information from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the value of the global wellness market is approximately 1,604 billion baht and Thailand has a market share of around 285 billion baht, ranked 13th in the world. We believe that the tourism industry in Thailand has very high growth potency. In light of supporting this growth, we have rebranded and repositioned as Amatara Wellness Resort. The new name and enhanced concentration on wellness will support the tourism industry in Thailand to grow rapidly. Finally, at the end of 2016, Amatara will record 10% growth compared to last year, giving us real scope to solidify our focus on complete wellness.”
In support of the resort name change, Amatara will introduce new and/or revised facilities along with the introduction of a much wider service offering. As from today, customers in Thailand will see the company’s new name in every communication channel as well as the launch of a new video to present the changing face of the resort. Moreover, in Q4, Amatara plans to launch two new wellness packages; the first is a dedicated anti-aging offering, whilst the second will be centered on brain health. These programs will operate under the highest standards covering various angles: brain checks to world medical standards, health consulting, nutrition planning after medical treatment, relaxation and treatments, preventive health education, and wellness lifestyle programs.
Guests will enjoy more convenient and value-added services that cover transportation, checkup, treatment and recovery in an integrative way. This will enhance not only the hospitality and wellness tourism sector in Phuket, but also in Thailand as a whole, in order to attract wellness tourists from around the world.
