The Sound of New Harlem Emily Braden Live at The Living Room


Throughout June and July, a rising new star of the New York jazz scene, Emily Braden, flies in from the Big Apple to perform at The Living Room with the Randy Cannon Group.

Winner of New York City’s “Best of the Best” Jazzmobile Vocal Competition, Emily has been described as “the sound of the new Harlem.”  The signature sound of this magnetic performer is an effortless blend of jazz and soul. Her knock-out debut album Soul Walk is composed of high-energy original songs and “flipped-out” jazz standards.  Producer Misha Piatigorsky said of the gifted artist, “As a singer, Emily has no boundaries. She gives me goose bumps,” while singer Dee Daniels said “she possesses all the qualities that precedes the rising of a new star. I’m so pleased to have had the opportunity to witness her talent at this point on her path to global recognition as a great jazz vocalist.”

Whether Emily is singing with a symphony or fronting a world-class trio, she has the innate ability to win the heart of any audience with her powerhouse vocals and striking stage presence. She has performed at notable New York City venues such as the Blue Note Jazz Club as part of the Late Night Groove Series, Birdland Jazz Club, Le Poisson Rouge, BAM Cafe and Minton’s Playhouse, as well as on international festival circuits.  In April 2014, Braden was selected by the US Embassy to travel to Burkina Faso, West Africa as part of the Arts Envoy program, where the Emily Braden Quartet closed out the Jazz at Ouaga Festival with a standing ovation.

From June 13 – July 7, Emily will perform with the sensational Randy Cannon Group. Renowned for his power-packed performances, Randy’s mesmerizing piano playing is complemented by the outstanding drummer Willard Dyson, Thailand’s leading bass player, Therdsak Wongvichien on every Tuesday and Wednesday or his new bass player, Alex Sergeenko on every Thursday to Saturday.

Emily Braden and the Randy Cannon Group will perform TuesdayThursday from 21.15 hours onwards and every Friday and Saturday from 20.30 hours onwards.
