It’s a Swing Thing – Tammy McCann from Chicago at The Living Room

From February 28 – March 31, The Living Room swings to the sound of the incredible jazz vocalist, Tammy McCann from Chicago.

Tammy McCann began her career as a classical musician, but it was jazz that stole her heart. This talented lady is a storyteller who makes a connection with her audience and takes them on an unforgettable musical journey. Internationally recognized for her powerful, sultry, and emotionally charged voice, she combines classical, gospel and jazz vocal techniques to create her own distinctive sound and style. Tammy has been named The Chicago Tribune’s “Best Jazz Vocal Performance of the Year”, with the paper’s Arts Critic, Howard Reich saying, “McCann has a voice that soars in all registers, at all tempos, on all occasions…a voice that inspires wonder!” Los Angeles Jazz Scene columnist, Scott Yanow, also lauds praise on the gifted songstress, writing, “There are many fine jazz singers on the scene today, but few are at Tammy McCann’s level.”

Tammy has toured as a ‘Raelette’ with the great Ray Charles, performed with Chicago’s own Ramsey Lewis & NEA Jazz Master, and Von Freeman. She has also thrilled audiences in festivals and clubs worldwide, as well as at renowned jazz clubs such as Birdland and The Blue Note in New York City, and many more.

Tammy’s shows are not to be missed. In the intimate surroundings of The Living Room, she will perform with the sensational Randy Cannon Group every Tuesday to Thursday from 21.15 hours onwards and every Friday and Saturday from 20.45 hours onwards.
