TAT teams up with Socialgiver to offer community travel packages that benefit the planet

Email

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), together with Socialgiver, is introducing community travel packages at a very special price. In the first package, enjoy the mist, live with a hilltribe and feel the vibe of Doi Pui Luang’s beautiful nature at Baan Huay Hee Community in Mae Hong Son Province. In the second, chill out and learn how to make Kra-Jood (sawgrass) basketry, a famous product at the Tha-Lae Noi Community, Phatthalung Province. In the third, relax in a cozy homestay and practice painting porcelain at Baan Benjarong, Don Kai Dee Community, Samut Sakhon Province.

All the profits from these community travel packages will go to the Big Trees Project, to restore a forest in Chiang Dao district in Chiang Mai Province. This forest is near the source of the Ping River, which forms the beginning of the Chao Phraya River, so it has a special place in the hearts of all Thai people. This activity is just one of TAT’s ways of “giving” to society.

TAT and Socialgiver invite everyone to experience life in a rural community, learn local wisdom, make a social contribution and help to create an ecosystem of giving. Visit the community website for more details.
