THAI and THAI Smile Provide Air Tickets to Rescue Team after Operational Success

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) and Thai Smile Airways Company Limited (THAI Smile) jointly celebrated the success in finding 12 youth football players and their coach who are trapped inside Kun Nam Nang Non cave in Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai province, and provided air tickets for the rescue team.

Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo, THAI Acting President, said that THAI, the national carrier, is thankful for the youth football team and their coach were found inside Kun Nam Nang Non cave. THAI supported the mission by provided air tickets to cave diving experts from British Cave Rescue Council, London, United Kingdom, and transported rescue equipment from London to Thailand. The three cave diving experts are Mr. Robert Charles Harper, Mr. Richard William Stanton, and Mr. John Volanthen, who traveled from London to Bangkok on board THAI flight TG917 that arrived on 27 June 2018 and traveled to Chiang Rai on the same day to join the rescue operation underway by the Royal Thai Navy SEAL team. In addition, THAI will provide air tickets from Bangkok to London for their return flight and THAI Smile will provide air tickets on the route Chiang Rai-Bangkok and Hat Yai-Bangkok to eight bird nest collectors from Libong Island in Trang’s Kantang district who volunteered to help the rescue mission.

THAI and THAI Smile are thankful to all officials, civilians, volunteers, and rescuers from Thailand and abroad who participated in the search and rescue, and will facilitate air tickets to the rescuers for their return home. THAI and THAI Smile will coordinate with government organizations to present the air tickets to those involved in the rescue mission.

THAI and THAI Smile jointly give moral support to all those involved in safe evacuation of the youth football players and their coach from Kun Nam Nang Non cave.
