A taste of one of the wine world’s much loved Italian wineries was a major highlight of the recent ‘An Evening with Zaccagnini Wine Dinner’ hosted by the Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok at the Da Vinci restaurant and supported with romantic live piano music.
A journey through the outstanding Zaccagnini wines from Abruzzo, Italy, was paired with the culinary art of Executive Chef Vittorio Bertini and his team in a stunning seven-course degustation menu combining authentic Catalanya Italian flavors with garden fresh local produce, meats and seafood.
The food ‘fiesta’ included artisan truffle burrata, tomato compote, basil oil & pine nuts paired with a 2015 Zaccagnini Tralcetto Abruzzo Bianco; whipped salted cod with potato and olive oil, toasted garlic aioli paired with a 2015 Zaccagnini Tralcetto Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo.
A highlight was the Harvey prime rib tomahawk on the bone, char-grilled, and served with béarnaise sauce, creamed gratin potato & summer vegetables served with a 2014 Zaccagnini No So2 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.
Additional delights included a black truffle ravioli, fine mushroom veloute, sorbet limoncello served with a 2014 Zaccagnini Tralcetto Montepulciano d’Abruzzo awarded 90+ points over six years by Wine Spectator magazine, and 90 points by wine maestro Robert Parker. It is the #1 montepulciano wine sold in USA.
