The shopping centers use a strategy to attract Chinese tourists with a number of promotions and prizes that are easy to enjoy or win. Senior Executive Vice President to Siam Piwat Company Limited, Mayuree Chaipromprasith says, “Chinese tourists are a key clientele who has boosted sales for top brand shops in the shopping centers managed by Siam Piwat Company Limited—including Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery. In the first half of this year (from January to June 2016), over 10.5 million Chinese tourists traveled to Thailand and the number of tourists is expected to increase in the second half of the year.
“Especially during the National Day of the People’s Republic of China holidays or the Golden Week. This year there are nine consecutive holidays (from 1 to 9 October 2016). Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery are launching a special campaign to welcome a large influx of Chinese tourists who are expected to travel to Thailand. We are preparing welcome signs on which a list of promotions is written in Chinese, all of them will be installed in the shopping centers. We also provide a group of receptionists who can speak Chinese to give information and convenience to Chinese tourists shopping at Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery. All of this is to create a maximum impression to the tourists.”
