NCC-PCO finished the year of 2016 with 5 efficient projects.

Imagine how challenging it is when ones hold 10 conferences in a year, especially the last 2 months of the year that we manage 5 conferences in a row.

Start with the first project of November- December, 2nd World Irrigation Forum and 67thInternational Executive Council Meeting which was hosted by 3 potential partners; International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID), Thai National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (THAICID) and Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives at Chiang Mai, from 6 – 12 November 2016. The objective of this conference is to cooperate for water management in a changing world : Role of irrigation for sustainable food production. Not only the conference, but also the exhibition which relate to 13 initiative projects about irrigation of the late King Bhumibol. This conference is successful with a number of 1,200 participants from more than 45 countries.

Followed by 11th World Conference of the International Ombudsman Institute that Thailand played host to for the first time. The conference was scheduled during 13 – 19 November 2016 in Bangkok. Thailand is the first country in Asia to host such the international conference which aims to upgrade the measures of human rights protection and promote anti-corruption in line with the good governance practices. The event also provides a good opportunity for Thailand to establish trust and boost confidence among international communities while also promoting the country’s tourism and MICE.

Continue with one-day conference, 7th Annual Conference of Cardiovascular Intervention Association of Thailand which was held on 26 November 2016 at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld.

Move forward to the 7-day training programme in Chiang Mai, Atelier for Young Festival Managers which is a collaboration between the European Festival Academy and Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). The training took place during 1-7 December 2016 with 35 participants from 20 countries from all over the world. The programme addressed at young artistic festival managers or those who are ambitious to become involved in programming or in programming related departments within a festival.

Last but not least, the recent project that we have completed in the end of the year is The XXIX International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists Congress which was held during 5-8 December 2016 in Chiang Mai. The congress was hosted with ISSCT Congresses and Workshops decided by Council on the recommendation of the Executive, following applications from affiliated members. This period marks the significant year of movement, strength and potentiality for NCC-PCO team as we put the effort in making every piece of our works better and better until it is a masterpiece ever.
