In respect of His Majesty the King of Thailand during this period of mourning, Manchester United is to cancel its #ILOVEUNITED fan party in Bangkok later this month.

The event was due to take place on Sunday 23 October at CentralWorld.

Group Managing Director Richard Arnold said

“Everyone at Manchester United including Bryan Robson and Nemanja Vidic, who were due to attend #ILOVEUNITED, is saddened to hear that King Bhumibol Adulyadej has passed away. We understand this is a moment of mourning and grief for people in Thailand.

“With respect for the state of mourning within the country, with which we have strong ties and a large family of fans, we confirm the live screening of the match against Chelsea is cancelled.

“We will aim to stage an event for Thai fans by the end of the season. We hope to reunite in the spirit of the beautiful game at a more appropriate time.”
