In Nong Khai province, temperatures have dropped to as low as 22 degrees Celsius with thick fog at mountaintop viewpoints along Sangkhom district. The early winter climate has attracted a number of local and outside tourists.
Chaing Rai province has also recorded temperatures as low as 22 degrees, with visibility reduced to 1-2 meters, due to thick fog. The province’s meteorological department has notified locals to exercise caution, as temperatures will continue to drop, further reducing visibility in various areas.
Meanwhile, Governor of Lampang province Suwat Phromsuwan led a team of 100 cyclists to take part in the province’s winter cycling activity, which takes attendees along the six-kilometer hillside route near Mae Moh power plant, stopping at the province’s famous sunflower fields as well as the viewpoint at Mae Moh mine on Phu Khao Tiam.
