The gorgeous Khum Phaya Resort and Spa was the setting for a wonderful evening for Skålleagues and friends that began with drinks by the waterfall. The charming setting was enhanced by the wonderful setting and traditional live music played by a lovely young woman.
Resident Manager Manoon Wutti was an excellent host, ensuring that everything was perfect. Although an intimate evening, members and guests had a wonderful time, sometimes just meeting and talking is the best of all!
Skål Chiang Mai President Tim McGuire reminded everyone that the Bollywood event hosted by local Skål Chiang Mai members Frank and Vanita Sethi is on October 15 and that tickets are going fast. Frank said tickets are on sale at his office or at Tim’s office at Old Chiang Mai. The evening will be held at another Skål member’s venue; the Holiday Inn Chiang Mai where Stella Jacobs is the General Manager. The annual gala Bollywood event is raising funds for a water project at Wat Pranon School which has over 300 students ranging from kindergarten to grade 6.
Also announced was the Skål Chiang Mai Christmas gala fundraising dinner to be held on December 13 at Skål member Greg Anderson’s Le Meridien Chiang Mai. Tickets are 1,500 for dinner and 2,000 baht with unlimited wine. You know Greg and his stellar team will provide an amazing experience. Tim reminded members and friends that donations are needed and to contact Tim or Annette with donation offers.

The group enjoyed an exquisitely presented Thai meal with a unique red curry with catfish and lychees, green curry with BBQ pork, and a tropical fruit salad with pork among other dishes. The meal was delicious and finished with a fabulous ice cream in a coconut shell.
Manoon and his team did an excellent job of ensuring everyone was taken care and offered delicious food in a serene atmosphere. Skål Chiang Mai President Tim McGuire and Vice President Annette Kunigagon thanked Manoon and the staff for such a wonderful evening.
Next month’s Skål Chiang Mai dinner will be held at the fabulous Ratilanna Riverside Resort and Spa on October 27, 2016, famed for their Churrascaria Brazilian BBQ.
