The tour departs from Lampang River Lodge and takes a relaxing hour drive to Chae Son National Park.
The area is filled with rich mountainous forest located in the northeast of Lampang province. It is situated in the districts of Muang Bahn and Jae Hom and covers an area of about 592 square kms.
The forest and mountains of Chae Son provides an important water source for the surrounding area. The Park has many interesting features including, waterfalls, caves and its famous hot springs. After lunch at a popular local restaurant in the area, we continue by car to Jae Hom district to visit one of the most unique temples in Thailand, Wat Phar Phu Dang.
The temple is also one of the top ten unseen Thailand 2014’s Attractions. This pristine temple sits atop a of mountain crest at 700 meters above sea level. Located north of Lampang province, the mountain lookout has an incredible 360-degree panorama of the valleys below. The journey to the top is, however, also a challenging one and there are 3 main parts of the expedition. The first part, our vehicle will drive you up about one third of the way. The second part, you need to join other tourists on designated vehicles for the middle part. Finally for the final part, you need to walk 500 meters up a gruesome quest on steep stairs to the peak. This unseen temple is worthy to discover.
