Due to the Royal Cremation Ceremony for His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok will be closed during the period of 1 – 29 October, 2017.

Guests will not be allowed to visit these sites and our tours to the two sites will be suspended during this time. Wat Pho Temple will be closed only on the 26th October but as the temple is located in the same area, traffic and access to it during the entire month of October could be limited.
Please note that we expect Bangkok to be particularly busy as people from all around the Kingdom of Thailand will travel to the capital to pay their final respect to the late King.
The actual ceremony has been confirmed for Thursday 26 October 2017, which has recently been announced as a public holiday by the Government.
Other Diethelm Travel Thailand tours and services throughout the country are expected to operate as normal and foreign travellers are still welcome to come experience the magic of Thailand. We will be sure to inform you of any important updates or additional schedule changes.
His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away on 13 October 2016. The Royal Cremation Ceremony marks the last funeral rites for the beloved King.
