Emirates has announced a new daily flight service from Bangkok to Auckland, via Sydney, reflecting a growing customer demand for connectivity between Thailand and New Zealand.
Effective from October 30, flight EK418 will depart Bangkok at 19:30, and will arrive in Auckland at 15:55 the next day, after a short stop in Sydney. The return flight, EK419 departs Auckland at 16:30, makes a stop in Sydney at 17:55, before arriving in Bangkok at 01:10 the next morning. The service then continues onwards to Dubai, arriving at 06:45.
The service is part of a planned reroute of the EK418/419 service, currently operating from Dubai to Christchurch, via Bangkok and Sydney. The new route will operate from Dubai to Auckland, via Bangkok and Sydney.
Thailand, Australia and New Zealand have enjoyed a close economic relationship for many years, with Sydney and Auckland, in particular, popular destinations for Thai students to go to study abroad. Many Thais visit Sydney during the mild summer months to marvel at the Sydney Opera House, take in the Royal Botanic Garden, and watch surfers at Sydney’s iconic Bondi beach, while the outdoor pursuits of Auckland, including walking and zip-lining on Waiheke Island, and enjoying the panoramic views from the Sky Tower, are must-do activities for many Thais.
Thanks to Emirates’ codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways, passengers will also be able to connect seamlessly onto this service from 14 destinations in Southeast Asia, including eight destinations in domestic Thailand, with their luggage checked through to their final destination.
Emirates is the only airline offering year-round scheduled A380 services to and from New Zealand. All New Zealand services will continue to offer three classes of travel – First Class, Business Class and Economy Class, with generous free baggage allowance (up to 35kg in Economy Class, 40kg in Business Class and 50kg in First Class).
