“Index Creative Village” joins “AirAsia” For KILORUN 2018 Bringing Fun, Food and Friends to 4 Cities of 4 Countries


Mr Kriangkrai Kanjanapokin, co-founder and co-chief executive officer at event organiser Index Creative Village PLC, a leader in creative marketing in ASEAN and the world’s number 7 Creative Event firm (as ranked by Special Event Magazine in the US), pointed out running has become one of the world’s and Thailand’s top activities as of late with marathons taking placr weekly.  In light of this, Index Creative Village decided to join with Thai AirAsia to create the unique KILORUN 2018 THE RUNNING FESTIVAL OF FOOD | FUN | FRIENDS | FAMILY bringing together running, dining and travel and kicking off this 24-25 March 2018 in Bangkok with over 2,500 participants expected.

The run is divided into 2 categories:

Category 1 is KG (Kilogram) and is a run based on kilograms where runners sample the signature dishes of each iconic attraction they pass and are give unique prizes based on targeted weight gains of 0.5, 1 and 2 KG. The run starts 24 March at 17:00 hrs with the 2.68 KM route passing Michelin starred eateries including Kai Krata Koh Pi Hia Tai Ki, Lan Fah Betong Chicken Rice, “Err” Vintage Thai Cuisine, Rad Na Yod Pak San Jao Por Sua and Mee Krib Chotejitr.

Category 2 ia KM (Kilometer) and involves runners experiencing the atmosphere, culture, architecture and lifestyles of each city.  This category is divided into 3 runs, the MINI MARATHON of 10.82 kms, FUN RUN of 5.82 kms and KID RUN of 2.68 kms.  The event kicks off 6:00 hrs on 25 March (10.82 km run and 5.82 km run) in front of Bangkok City Hall with the Kid Run starting at 6:30 hrs.  Runners will see the architecture of Rattanakosin Island including Rachadamnoen Avenue, Sanam Luang, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Pho, the Ministry of Defense, the Giant Swing and Democracy Monument as well as receive a shirt and specially made medals.

 Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, Director of Commercial for Thai AirAsia, explained Thai AirAsia’s policy on promoting tourism and sports compelled it to take part in organizing KILORUN 2018 THE RUNNING FESTIVAL OF FOOD | FUN | FRIENDS | FAMILY and that the concept for the event was that of a completely different kind of marathon that supports the Thai government’s tourism policies and adds value to sporting.  With Thailand as the first venue for the run, Thai AirAsia has been doing its best to raise awareness and attract runners both Thai and foreign, showing them that AirAsia is fully ready to support their travel.
