THAI Adjusts Flight Schedule During Loy Kratong or Floating Lantern Festival

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced flight schedule adjustments and cancellation of some flights in Northern Thailand between 22-23 November 2018 and 31 December 2018, to maintain safety standards during Loy Kratong and Floating Lantern Festival.   

Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security & Standards, said that during the annual Loy Kratong and Floating Lantern Festival, many provinces in Northern Thailand release floating lanterns that could pose an aviation hazard. As a security precaution and in accordance to safety standards, THAI has cancelled and rescheduled certain flights on 22-23 November 2018 and 31 December 2018. The flight details are as follows;

1. Cancel roundtrip flights from Bangkok – Chiang Mai during 22-23 November 2018 and
31 December 2018 as follows:
1.1 Flight TG120 from Bangkok – Chiang Mai during 22-23 November 2018 and
31 December 2018
1.2 Flight TG121 from Chiang Mai – Bangkok during 22-23 November 2018 and
31 December 2018
2. Flight schedule adjustment during 22-23 November 2018 as follows:
2.1 Flight TG103 on 22 November 2018, normally departs from Chiang Mai at 10.05 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 11.25 hours, is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 09.55 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 11.15 hours
2.2 Flight TG105 on 22 November 2018, normally departs from Chiang Mai at 10.40 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 11.55 hours, is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 12.05 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 13.15 hours
2.3 Flight TG116 during 22-23 November 2018 and 31 December 2018, normally departs from Bangkok at 17.10 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 18.30 hours, is changed to depart from Bangkok at 15.40 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 16.50 hours
2.4 Flight TG117 during 22-23 November 2018, normally departs from Chiang Mai at 19.20 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 20.40 hours, is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 17.50 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 19.00 hours
