Advanced Creative Writing Workshop’ on the 20th March 2019

The Neilson Hays Library and the Embassy of the United States in Bangkok invite submissions for an advanced creative writing workshop with Uthis Haemamoon, Veeraporn Nittiprapha, and Wipas Srithong on March 20, 2019.

The Workshop

With the aim of promoting Thai literature, the Library and the U.S. Embassy are organizing this workshop for established and emerging writers to learn more about the craft of creative writing from award-winning authors. In the workshop, participants will also be introduced to the residency opportunities at the prestigious the International Writing Program (IWP) at the University of Iowa in the United States. The workshop will be conducted in Thai and will be free to attend. Lunch and a coffee break included.

Agenda:

9.30-10.00: Registration

10.00-12.00: Panel Discussion and Q&A with Uthis Haemamoon, Veeraporn Nittiprapha, and Wipas Srithong, IWP alumus

12:00-13.00: Lunch

13:00-17.00: Writing workshops with Uthis Haemamoon and Veeraporn Nittiprapha

Apply by March 12, 2019

Interested writers are invited to submit an application that includes:

  • A sample of published writing in Thai, no more than two pages single-spaced.
  • A cover letter that includes the applicant’s bio, including the following information:
    • Statement of motivation
    • Date of Birth
    • Contact details including email address and telephone numbers
    • English Proficiency (Native, fluent, intermediate, and beginner)

The application should be sent to info@neilsonhayslibrary.org by March 12, 2019, with the subject: Application for Advanced Writing Workshop March 20.
