All-new Honda Accord Generation 10 Awarded 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Safety Rating Reinforces its position as the best premium sedan that offers the highest safety in every journey

Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. announced its success in offering products that meet high safety standards with the All-new Honda Accord 10th Generation receiving a 5-star rating in a crash test conducted by the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia). This outstanding achievement emphasizes Honda’s commitment to creating high-quality automobiles equipped with safety and driving technologies that ensure a high level of safety for Honda customers and everyone sharing the road.

The All-new Honda Accord 10th Generation, a sport premium sedan, was officially launched in Southeast Asia first starting with Thailand in March 2019, followed by Indonesia in July 2019, the Philippines in September 2019, and Singapore and Vietnam in October 2019. This premium and sporty model has received positive feedback from Thai customers with 6,300 bookings as of October 2019, five months after sales began in Thailand.

The All-new Honda Accord 10th Generation achieved a 5-star rating with an overall score of 91.79 out of 100, which included a frontal offset impact test, side impact test, and evaluation of safety features. The new model received impressive scores of 49.07 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 23.28 for Child Occupant Protection (COP), and 19.44 for Safety Assist Technologies (SATs).

In addition, the All-new Honda Accord 10th Generation Hybrid variant comes with Honda SENSING, which uses a combination of radar and a monocular camera to detect the road environment, then alert and assist the driver in critical driving situations that could lead to an accident. Honda SENSING is comprised of the following safety functions:

– Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)

– Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow (ACC with LSF)

– Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

– Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW)

– Auto High-Beam (AHB)

It also features other advanced and premium technologies including a Multi-View Camera System (MVCS), Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM), and Honda Smart Parking Assist System.

The All-new Honda Accord 10th Generation has a G-CON (G-Force Control) body structure that is built with Advanced Compatibility Engineering(TM) (ACE(TM)), a highly unique body structure design technology. It also includes a full range of safety technologies such as six airbags; Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA); Hill Start Assist (HSA); Emergency Stop Signal (ESS); Multi-angle Rearview Camera; Electric Parking Brake (EPB); Automatic Brake Hold; and Honda LaneWatch.

As well as the advanced safety technologies in the All-new Honda Accord that received a 5-star rating from ASEAN NCAP, the All-new Honda Accord 10thGeneration Hybrid variant, which is produced in Thailand, is also exported for distribution in Japan. This is another solid proof of high-quality production that meets Honda’s global standards, as well as reflecting customer’s acceptance of products that are produced by Thai people.
