It is with a tinge of sadness but mostly happiness that I must bid you farewell as I hand over to James today the mantle of Bkk Presidency.
I know that you will support our President-elect with the same honour and respect you have shown me.
For me, the current journey of resuming the Bangkok Club Presidency started for a second time (the first was in 2008 and ended when I assumed the role of Director of SI from my hospital bed) all started on the 28th March 2018 at the Lancaster Hotel.
According to our Area Statutes I must not hold any other positions in Skal – which we had planned for:
ARTICLE XII. DUTIES OF THE AREA COMMITTEE PRESIDENT
f) The office of President may not be combined with any other position. Derogation to this must be approved by the Skal International Executive Committee.
The day has now arrived that I must bid you adieu and also to the SIT board as both a regulatory requirement but to also allow me to fully focus on the task ahead as Skal Asia President.
We have achieved many great things together for Bangkok. A team par excellence including the coveted Club of the Year 2018-2019 award (which due to the pandemic is still on display in my office at home). I will be always in your debt and I will cherish so many fond memories.
We shall keep in touch – I continue to reside here and my club will be forever BANGKOK! Look out for me at club events!
