Central Group and Thaiwatsadu join forces to bring joy to the New Year

Under the “Central Tham” social development project, Central Group collaborates with CRC Thaiwatsadu Company Limited, a subsidiary of Central Retail Group, to organize a series of events that allow everyone to enjoy the festive season while saying goodbye to 2022 and hello to 2023.

A 3-meter Christmas tree has been fully decorated and handed over to Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt as part of this.

The Christmas tree, made from fresh pine trees sent directly from Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Canada, will then be installed at the Bangkok Art & Culture Centre (BACC) to become a landmark of happiness, where Bangkok residents and visitors will come to take a check-in photo. The pine trees are among the most fragrant Balsam Fir species in the world, and their trunk shape is stunning from every angle.

Mrs. Supatra Chirathivat, Senior Executive Vice President – Corporate Policy Office and Image, Central Group Company Limited, said, “As the holiday season approaches, Central Group would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We recently presented Bangkok Metropolitan Administration with a Christmas tree. This is combined with the telling of a story about a rabbit dressed in Na Muen Si folk weaving cloth from Trang Province and gliding on a pine tree decorated with balls made from hand-woven cloth and loincloth from Chiang Mai villagers.”

She continued, “To convey the magnificence of contemporary art, the contribution is run under the supervision of the Central Tham social development project. The design has been elevated to a more modern appearance, fusing Thai and international cultures. The event where visually impaired children bring the little rabbit doll to decorate and fulfill this happiness for everyone is one of the highlights of this Christmas tree handover. It represents cooperation and being together, and each of us plays an important role in putting them together like a jigsaw and completing this Christmas tree so that it is perfect and beautiful.”

Ms. Chutiporn Kongcharoensuk, Head of Marketing, CRC Thai Watsadu Company Limited, Central Retail said, “As Thailand’s first importers of fresh pine trees from Canada, Thaiwatsadu and BnB home would like to take part in providing the people of Bangkok and visitors with a memorable experience and impressing them with a striking moment during the holiday season. We worked with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, government agencies, and private organizations to make this possible by donating a real Christmas tree. The 3-meter Christmas tree is made from specially selected fresh pine trees that have a perfect shape on all four sides and strong branches that can be decorated. It fills BACC with the atmosphere of the Christmas season as if it were celebrated among the pine forests, stimulating all senses, including sight, smell, and sound, and creating an exquisite scene of Christmas without the need to travel far to a foreign country. It has become a check-in point and a new landmark for Bangkok residents and visitors.”

According to Ms. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Chairperson of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre Foundation Committee, the Centre has organized a series of constructive and inspiring activities that encourages everyone to take action to build up sustainable happiness. She said, “We are selling postcards that have been specially designed for this event. Visitors can take photos and write their wishes on postcards, which they can then hang on the Christmas tree. All proceeds will be donated to the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand Under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen. Its purpose is, in another way, to bring joy to visually impaired children.”

The BACC event has a lot to offer, such as seeing and smelling fresh pine trees, taking check-in photographs, and writing wishes on adorable, patterned postcards. Those who wish to contribute to the Foundation may do so on the 5th floor, in front of the BACC Shop, between today and December 30, 2022. (Closed on Monday)

Tip:

Thaiwatsadu would like to share a tip to keep a fresh Christmas tree looking great for weeks after the New Year. Simply keep the plants in a cool, humid environment. It should not be exposed to wind, heat, or sunlight. To keep the plant in optimum shape, it should be sprayed on a regular basis. Most essential, place cold water at the base of the Christmas tree stand to moisturize the leaves and extend the life of the scent.
