Summertime Delights: IGNIV Bangkok’s Culinary Journey

IGNIV Bangkok (1 Michelin Star) invites guests to experience the Art of Sharing with the new Summer Menu, represented by the exquisite flavors and textures of summertime – fresh, light, crunchy, smoky, and acidic – presented in a total of 19 handcrafted dishes from June to August 2023.

The latest fine dining sharing menu, developed over two months of experimentation by the whole IGNIV Bangkok team, features seasonal products from Europe – French Pigeon and Foie Gras, Dutch Veal, Japanese Trout, Maldivian Tuna, Japanese Scallops, French Caviar, Swiss Raclette Cheese, and Japanese Bonito – meticulously paired with local ingredients from Thailand such as fresh vegetables, herbs, mango, strawberry, and yogurt. Towards the end of the multi-course gastronomic journey, guests enjoy a choice of house-made macarons, fruit jellies, chocolates, and other delights from IGNIV’s signature Candy Store to enjoy with coffee or tea, or to take home.

“For me, the beauty about food is that you can enjoy it with your friends and family, whether you are preparing it for your loved ones, or eating it with them,” says Head Chef David Hartwig. “That’s the feeling we want you to feel when you visit IGNIV Bangkok, and I hope to see you during this exciting season and to show you our imagination of summer on a plate.”

Wine highlights presented with the Summer Menu include the first allocation of Swiss wines from Bündner Herrschaft, an intimate wine region in Graubünden famed for its world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

“The IGNIV family enjoys a close relationship with wine producers Patrick Adank and George Fromm,” says Restaurant Manager Regina D’Souza. “By using their wines, we are delighted to showcase the best quality produced in this small region of IGNIV’s home country, and honored to share with our guests the incredible complexity and technical skills that go into the production process, reflected in their taste and aroma.”

Setting itself apart from fine dining establishments, the experience at IGNIV is warm and cozy. Sharing the spotlight with Chef David and Sous Chef and Pastry Chef Arne Riehn is Restaurant Manager Regina D’Souza, who ensures every member of staff is engaging, attentive, and embodies the true spirit of the IGNIV family.

On arrival, guests are invited to sit at the kitchen counter, where they can enjoy welcome snacks and have the opportunity to interact with the chefs. They are then ushered to their reserved table to enjoy the rest of the meal, peppered with short visits from chefs and service team members to provide titbits about the sharing experience.

Starting June, IGNIV Bangkok also debuts a vegan, vegetarian, and kids menu to cater to dietary requirements and families, as well as a la carte option is available.

The Summer Menu at IGNIV Bangkok is available Thursdays to Mondays for dinner (5:30 PM – 12:00 AM, last order 9:30 PM) and from Saturday to Sunday for lunch (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM, last order 2:00 PM) for IGNIV sharing experience (19 dishes) at THB 4,900++ per person, or Carte Blanche menu including surprise dishes at THB 7,900++ per person.
