Emirates Unveils Revamped Boeing 777 Destinations

Emirates unveils first destinations for refurbished B777.In a move that underscores its commitment to luxury and innovation, Emirates has announced the first destinations to experience its newly refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft. Starting August 11, passengers flying to Geneva, Tokyo, Haneda, and Brussels will be among the first to enjoy the airline’s latest cabin interiors, which include a newly configured Business Class and the introduction of Premium Economy.

Enhanced Travel Experience

The refurbishment program, set to commence on July 1, represents a significant upgrade across all cabin classes. Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airline, emphasized the airline’s dedication to excellence: “With the addition of the newly retrofitted Boeing 777s to our fleet, we’re capturing the opportunity to introduce our highly acclaimed products like Premium Economy to more cities already served by this aircraft type in our network, in addition to more seating variety in four classes.”

Premium Economy and Business Class Upgrades

The newly refurbished Boeing 777 features 38 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, providing enhanced privacy and comfort. Each seat converts into a flatbed and includes a 23-inch HD screen, one of the largest in the skies, linked to Emirates’ award-winning ice entertainment system. Additional amenities include a personal mini-bar, a large table, and ample stowage for individual devices.

Premium Economy, a first for Emirates on the Boeing 777, offers 24 seats with increased pitch and width, providing a superior travel experience. This cabin class is designed to meet the needs of travellers seeking a higher level of comfort without the premium price of Business Class.

Routes and Availability

The first routes to benefit from the refurbished Boeing 777 are:

  • Geneva: EK 83/84 from August 11
  • Tokyo Haneda: EK 312/313 from September 1
  • Brussels: EK 183/184 from September 11

Bookings for these routes are now available on emirates.com, the Emirates App, or through travel agents.

Investment in Customer Experience

This refurbishment is part of Emirates’ broader strategy to enhance its fleet, with plans to retrofit 81 Boeing 777s. Kazim added, “Our Boeing 777 with revamped interiors boast the very best in customer comfort and will feature modern design details and signature cabin finishings, with a new Business Class cabin that provides more privacy for our customers, in addition to other thoughtful touches that underscore our exceptional value proposition.”

The airline’s commitment to quality is further demonstrated by its ongoing $3 billion retrofit program investment, which aims to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience across its fleet. Emirates operates refurbished A380 aircraft with Premium Economy to major destinations, including New York, London, Sydney, and Tokyo.

Future Plans

By February 2025, Emirates aims to serve over 36 cities with Premium Economy. The introduction of the A350 to its fleet in September, along with more refurbished A380s and Boeing 777s, will expand this offering to even more destinations.

Emirates’ retrofit program is the largest in the industry, signalling a new era of luxury and comfort in air travel. With these enhancements, the airline continues to set the standard for excellence, providing passengers with an unparalleled travel experience.

Aircraft deployments may be advanced if released earlier from refurbishment.
