Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai Goes Virtual This Global Wellness Day

A haven of well-being in the beautiful countryside of Northern Thailand, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai invites guests to celebrate Global Wellness Day on June 13, 2020 with virtual healing and mindful experiences conducted by the Resort’s wellbeing experts and visiting masters.

“Even as we all stay safe at home out of an abundance of caution, we wanted to share transformational experiences that will help cope with times like these, and also give guests a chance to dream a little, of better times to come,” shares Anthony Gill, General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Tented Camp Golden Triangle.

The online series, which will be broadcast on the Resort’s Instagram page, will take guests through a range of experiences – from tea meditation and wellness cooking to kundalini yoga and mindfulness sessions with visiting practitioners. “We wanted to share some simple and easy-to-follow experiences that can be become a part of the daily routine, while staying at home,” explains Gemma Abad, Director of Spa.

Tea Therapy

Taking inspiration from the Japanese Zen tradition of tea ceremony, guests are invited to start the day with Tea Meditation led by the Resort’s Naturopath Sudha Nair. “It is inspired by ichigo ichi meaning one time, one meeting,” she shares, “Drinking tea is a part of our daily routine. This meditation brings a focus to mindfulness of the experience – from boiling the water to savouring the tea.” For this online session, guests are required to come prepared with a pot of boiling water and a cup with tea leaves.

Beat for Beets

Bringing a focus on the Resort’s soon-to-be-introduced plant-based menus, Executive Chef Liam Nealon demonstrates his favourite recipe – beetroot burger with hummus – a light meal for those who want to achieve optimal weight, but still craving a wholesome plate. “I would be lying if I don’t say I have days when I crave the typical ‘junk food’ – a plant-based burger is my go-to on such days!” he smiles. “A juicy beetroot burger topped with hummus and avocado with air fried sweet potato chips – you won’t be needing any dessert afterwards, I can assure you!”

Masters of Healing

Over the past few years, the Resort has forged strong connections with healing experts from around the world, who schedule visits to the Resort year-round to give guests a truly immersive wellbeing experience. One of the Resort’s most popular visiting experts, Reiki practitioner Shaylini will guide guests through a meditation and healing session in a virtual format. “We will go through some breath work, followed by a guided meditation to take your mind off the day-to-day stresses and allow you to focus on the present,” she shares. “Distance healing can work in wonderful ways – from clearing deep-rooted energy blocks to achieving peace and cleansing across spaces and geographies.”

Kundalini Yoga, meditation and healing specialist Paramjot Singh Khalsa will guide guests through a session that focuses on overcoming stress, anxiety and fear. “Preparing for or resetting life to a ‘new normal’ can be difficult,” he admits. “Through this virtual session of Kundalini Meditation and Yoga, I hope you will be able to find the lightness and joy of life, and the boundless love that embraces us all.”

For the team at Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, this is only a small step towards the unveiling of a full-fledged program dedicated to wellbeing. “We live in extraordinary times. Now, more than ever, we look forward to bringing our guests closer to themselves, their loves ones and a deep appreciation of the present, which will help define each of our futures,” says Anthony, as the Resort prepares to celebrate Global Wellness Day on June 13, 2020.
