Great Wall Motor Reveals Growing Sales Achievement in April with HAVAL H6 retaining Leadership in compact SUV segment for 4 Consecutive Months, Continuing to Create Complete xEV Ecosystem in Thailand

Great Wall Motor (GWM) has achieved outstanding performance in Thailand’s xEV market, revealing the sales success of all three car models: the All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV, ORA Good Cat and All New HAVAL JOLION Hybrid SUV in April, totaling 710 unit sales.

Continuing to create a positive impression on Thai consumers, the All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV managed to maintain its leading position in the compact SUV segment for four consecutive months this year. As of now, GWM has put a total of 7,145 smart electric vehicles on Thailand’s roads while also expanding GWM Stores to serve consumer needs. GWM Stores have been established in 42 locations across the country, considerably strengthening Thailand’s EV ecosystem.

Heading into the second quarter of the second year of business in Thailand, GWM has made a solid achievement, with the All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV securing its leadership in the compact SUV segment. With 417 units sold in April, the model upheld its position at the top for four consecutive months this year, accounting for 38.2% of the market, where 1,093 compact SUVs were sold. GWM has already delivered a total of 1,432 All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUVs to Thai customers.

The ORA Good Cat, a 100% electric vehicle, created a phenomenon with total bookings of 1,136 units throughout the Bangkok International Motor Show 2022 and a total of 3,500 units awaiting delivery. Even though most consumers are waiting for an official announcement regarding EV tax incentives that would lower prices, the ORA Good Cat has received overwhelming support from Thai consumers. From January to April, 778 ORA Good Cats were successfully delivered. Currently, GWM has suspended the booking of all three models of ORA Good Cat: 400 TECH, 400 PRO, and 500 ULTRA (since 20 April 2022) due to the overwhelming interest in the model and the shortage of chips and battery parts around the world since last year. GWM will continue to work with its headquarters in China and partners nationwide to deliver ORA Good Cats to customers at the soonest possible time.

Similarly, the All New HAVAL JOLION Hybrid SUV, the premium SUV fully packed with advanced technologies and outstanding performance, ready to serve all lifestyles, gained total sales of 219 vehicles. As a result, GWM delivered a total of 1,233 units of the All New HAVAL JOLION Hybrid SUV to customers from the beginning of 2022 to April.

Narong Sritalayon, Managing Director of Great Wall Motor (Thailand), said: “Consumers’ overwhelming trust and support given to GWM are reflected in the sales of all GWM’s models in the first month of the second quarter. This proof is strengthening and driving GWM to continue introducing better products and services that serve different Thai consumers’ driving lifestyles and preferences while listening to consumers’ voices based on our user-centric approach, and elevating Online-to-Offline experiences to offer the utmost satisfaction. We will also continue collaborating with related partners to drive sustainable growth in Thailand’s automotive industry and economy and respond to government policy regarding electric vehicles.”

GWM aims to fulfill EV infrastructure and ecosystem to promote and support Thailand’s EV industry and to develop charging stations as a foundation that helps prepare our country for a smooth transition to an EV society. Recently, GWM has formed an alliance with three state electricity authorities: EGAT, the MEA and PEA to enhance Thailand’s EV ecosystem and drive Thai EV industry growth in a sustainable way, responding to government policy in accordance with the long-term national economic and social development plans.

In terms of distribution channels, GWM is expanding GWM Stores to 80 locations by the end of 2022 to better serve customers’ demands and provide services for consumers. Currently, 42 GWM stores are in full operation including 1 GWM Experience Center, 8 GWM Direct Stores, and 33 GWM Partner Stores. All 3 models of GWM Stores are located across Thailand: 13 locations in Bangkok and metropolitan areas; 7 locations in central, eastern, and western parts; 6 locations in the northeast; 4 locations in the north; and 4 locations in the south.

In addition to the achievements in Thailand, GWM also showed impressive performance on a global level with total sales of 53,777 vehicles in April, of which, 29,125 vehicles were sales of vehicles from the HAVAL brand. ORA also hit the target, achieving total sales of 3,088 vehicles. The TANK brand, premium SUV for consumers with adventurous lifestyles, achieved total sales of 6,065 vehicles.
