Great Wall Motor Reveals March Sales Achievement, with HAVAL H6 Attaining Leadership in Compact SUV Segment in Q1 2022, Reinforcing Confidence and Trust of Thai Consumers

Great Wall Motor (GWM) is reinforcing its success in becoming the xEV leader in Thailand’s automobile industry, continuing to achieve remarkable sales performance in March with 563 unit sales of all three car models:  the All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV, ORA Good Cat, and All New HAVAL JOLION Hybrid SUV.

The All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV retained its leadership in the compact SUV segment for three consecutive months while the ORA Good Cat is continuously winning the hearts of consumers in the pure EV segment. At the end of the first quarter of 2022, GWM has put a total of 2,733 smart electric vehicles onto Thailand’s roads.

Stepping into the second year of business operations in Thailand, GWM is still gaining confidence and trust from Thai consumers. The All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV generated sales success in March of 314 vehicles, retaining the leadership in the compact SUV segment for the third consecutive month, accounting for 27.4% of the market where 1,145 compact SUVs were sold. In the first quarter of 2022, GWM delivered a total of 1,015 All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUVs to Thai customers.

The success of the All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV does not stop with its impressive sales numbers. Recently, the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), Australasia’s Independent Voice on Vehicle Safety, announced that the HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV has been awarded a 5-star safety rating, achieving four aspects of the test including adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, safety assistance and vulnerable road user protection. This is another important testament to GWM’s world-class safety standard technology that can truly reassure consumers.

For the much-loved ORA Good Cat in Thailand, it ends the first quarter of 2022 impressively with total sales and deliveries of 704 vehicles. The popular model also created excitement in the pure EV segment, with a total of 1,136 total bookings throughout the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show and another 774 vehicles reservations from GWM stores nationwide – total bookings of up to 1,910 vehicles in just 14 days. So far, over 3,500 pre-orders awaiting delivery. This achievement not only echoes the response to the first phase of the Thai Government’s EV policy but also reflects the increasing consumer trend toward more advanced and environmentally-friendly electric vehicles.

The All New HAVAL JOLION Hybrid SUV has set a new standard for the SUV-B segment since its launch in November last year and was able to gain total sales of 191 vehicles in March. As a result, in the first quarter of 2022, GWM delivered the All New HAVAL JOLION Hybrid SUV to 1,014 customers – all enthusiasts of smart intelligence and remarkable performance.

Recently, GWM ignited excitement in the electric vehicle trend at the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show with the showcase of two electric vehicles coming directly from China to Thailand: the TANK 300 HEV Concept Car, an off-road model with a modern style that perfectly fits those who enjoy the urban lifestyle and adventure; and the ORA Good Cat GT, another model of pure electric car with a sporty design. This reaffirms the goal of becoming the xEV leader with the ‘Mission 9 in 3 Strategy’ by which GWM is committed to bringing nine xEV models for Thai people to experience within three years.

In addition to the achievements in Thailand, GWM also showed impressive performance on a global level with total sales of 100,930 vehicles in March, increasing 43% from the previous month. GWM’s HAVAL brand achieved total sales of 54,534 vehicles globally. Of these, 21,633 were sales of the HAVAL H6, a popular SUV with outstanding technology and innovative design. Meanwhile, the ORA brand successfully boasted total sales of 14,264 vehicles, of which 6,374 vehicles were sales of the ORA Good Cat. The model recorded cumulative first-quarter sales of 19,460 units, an increase of 240% from the same period last year. The TANK brand, which just showcased the TANK 300 HEV Concept Car at the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show, achieved total sales on the global stage of 8,922 vehicles. To conclude the first quarter of 2022, GWM has seen total sales of 283,500 vehicles worldwide.
