Kimpton Kitalay Samui, the first resort in Southeast Asia for IHG Hotels & Resorts today announced that it is now fully certified as a SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) hotel, allowing it to welcome international travellers entering Thailand.
Awarded by Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Ministry of Public Health under the Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration (SHA) scheme, this certification means that the hotel, which was previously a SHA hotel when it opened in December 2021, is now able to provide its services to travellers with an even higher level of confidence and safety.
Hotels are only certified SHA++ when at least 70% of their staff are fully vaccinated, are partnered with certified hospitals to provide RT-PCR tests and have met all other stringent SHA criteria. As a SHA++ hotel, Kimpton Kitalay Samui is one of the establishments allowed to provide the SHABA certificate to visitors entering the country under government restrictions without quarantine.
