SAii Lagoon Maldives is accentuating its commitment to offering authentic, unexpected guest experiences, in alignment with the Curio Collection by Hilton brand philosophy, by introducing a series of one-of-a-kind in-room amenities and innovative guest service offerings. The new curated amenities and experiences combine to encapsulate a highly self-determined guest journey during the guest’s stay in the resort.

The resort’s M.I.Y Aroma Lab programme entices guests to create their own bathroom amenities from scratch. M.I.Y., which means “Mix It Yourself”, is a subtle reference to the Thai word “Yim”, which means “to smile”, hence the M.I.Y. Aroma Lab programme carries the tagline: “Make a scent to that makes you smile.” Quirky and interactive, the programme invites guests at the start of their stay to select a base product, such as a shower gel, shampoo or body lotion then pair it with their choice of the Lab’s extensive selection of scents. The guest’s choice of base products and scents are then customised into highly personalised formulas and the one-of-a-kind end products available for the guests’ use throughout their SAii Lagoon Maldives experience. At every step of the fun-filled process, which includes product testing to ensure the guest’s suitability and affinity with their customised formula, the resort’s SAiilanders are on hand to offer guidance and assistance. Each guest’s custom formula is meticulously kept on record, for easy future reference and use upon the guest’s return to SAii Lagoon Maldives. Should the guest wish to bring home samples of their own custom amenities as souvenirs or gifts, the products can be purchased and packaged accordingly.

As for in-room amenities, SAii Lagoon Maldives isn’t content with simply providing the standard in-room fruit bowls that usually greet guests at most hotels and resorts around the world. After checking in at SAii Lagoon Maldives, guests are invited to drop by Snap: Snack Box where they can choose, mix and match their own in-room treats from a complimentary collection of healthy, family-friendly refreshments. The light bites at Snap: Snack Box range from local tapas to fresh fruit juices, nutritious nuts and energy bars; youngsters will be delighted with the separate kids’ section, full of delicious, appetising goodies.

The guest’s journey of self-curated experiences at SAii Lagoon Maldives continues at the resort’s spa, Lèn, where the inspiring approach to health and relaxation includes tailoring wellness itineraries to the individual guest’s needs. Guests are encouraged to choose their “story” for each day, whereby the “story” can revolve around Romance, Family, Adventure or Culture. Itineraries, or “chapters”, are then created to suit the guests’ preferences, whether this involves, for instance, relaxing treatments therapies for two while the kids are engaged in the resort’s Junior Camp (Romance), physical outdoor activities such as scuba-diving (Adventure) or healthy epicurean dining by discovering Buddha Bowls (Culture).

Just 15 minutes by speedboat from Male, SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton opened on 1 September 2019 as part of CROSSROADS Maldives, the first integrated resort destination in the Maldives. The resort offers a collection of overwater and beachfront villas decorated with artisanal furniture, scattered across a picturesque island paradise.
