IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a ground-breaking partnership with real estate giant Recha Estate Co., Ltd, a landmark move that solidifies its position in Southeast Asia’s hospitality scene. The collaboration will give rise to Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor, a unique addition to Bangkok’s trendy Thonglor district, aiming to open its doors in 2026.
IHG, renowned worldwide for its luxury and lifestyle brands, is set to bring a fresh spin to Thailand’s hospitality sector with the 250-room Hotel Indigo. This partnership is the first of its kind between IHG and Recha Estate, and it promises to offer an exciting new blend of local flavour and world-class luxury.
Saowarin Chanprakaisi, Senior Director, Development, South East Asia and Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts, emphasised luxury brands’ role in Thailand’s booming market. “The Hotel Indigo brand has been expanding rapidly and is now strongly established in the region and globally. We have ambitious plans to expand its global footprint to more than 200 open hotels in the next three years,” she said. I
To date, IHG boasts two Hotel Indigo properties in Thailand – in Bangkok and Phuket – with four more in the pipeline, aiming to triple their presence in the market. The unique essence of each Hotel Indigo property captures the spirit of its local neighbourhood, a feature that significantly enhances its appeal.
For Sirianont Srikureja, President and CEO of Recha Estate Co., Ltd., the Hotel Indigo brand is ideal for Thonglor’s fashionable and upscale district. “[Hotel Indigo’s] unique offering will bring the Thonglor story to life through its design, service, food, and experiences,” Srikureja noted.
Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor, situated on Sukhumvit Road and near the Thonglor BTS station, is primed to be a focal point in a district already a vibrant hub of entertainment and lifestyle for locals, expatriates, and travellers alike. Offering two restaurants, a bar, a swimming pool, a gym, meeting rooms, and ample co-working spaces, the hotel is poised to become a new landmark in Bangkok.
Currently, Hotel Indigo has four properties in South East Asia & Korea, and 11 more are in the pipeline across bustling destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Bandung, Saigon, and Hoi An. Globally, the brand maintains a robust presence with 143 open hotels and a pipeline of 127 more to come, including highly-anticipated locations such as Tokyo, Shibuya and Florence.
Hotel Indigo is part of the luxurious IHG Hotels & Resorts portfolio, encompassing Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, Regent Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels & Restaurants, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, and Vignette Collection. This partnership, thus, marks a significant milestone for IHG and reinforces the brand’s commitment to offering distinctive, high-quality experiences deeply rooted in the local culture.
