Khiri Travel Recommends Hanoi Attractions Where Trump and Kim Can Bond Together

Khiri Travel recommends eight Hanoi activities to help Trump and Kim unwind after their summit in the Vietnamese capital, 27-28 February.

After the diplomatic ink dries, the two rocket men should let their hair down – then rearrange it – at any of the friendly outdoor barber shops in the Hanoi Old Quarter around Ngo Gach and Hang Bac streets. A comb over or a buzz cut with flat top will cost around 30,000 dong (US$1.30) per person. To celebrate the summit, tourists and locals in Hanoi can also get their hair done like Trump and Kim here.

To make fast food loving President Trump feel at home, Kim Jong-un should host the US president to abahn mi Vietnamese burger. It’s an open baguette stuffed with goodies such as pork sausage, coriander, pate, jalapenos and pickled vegetables. There are many amazing local food options around town. However, French fries are off the menu — as is a visit to the Bun Cha restaurant in Le Van Huu streetwhere President Obama and Anthony Bourdain had noodles and beer.

If homesick President Trump insists on an American burger, the two leaders can visit the Hanoi Social Club, El Gaucho or The Republic.

Khiri says Trump and Kim should visit a Water Puppet Theatre show. The thousand-year old art form is a masterful way for the two leaders to reflect on the role of acting, face, proxies and hidden players pulling strings behind the scenes.

As President Trump is very fit – and has a doctor letter to prove it – he may want to join Hanoi residents for an early morning walk, yoga or Tai Chi work out next to Hoan Kiem Lake park or Trang Tien Plaza.

In the evening, Khiri recommends he presents Kim, who is a big basketball fan, with seats for a game of the Hanoi Buffaloes

To consolidate their swinging relationship, the two leaders should continue their diplomatic dialogue during a round of golf at one of the many courses near Hanoi: the Vantri Golf Club, King’s Island Resort, andLong Bien.

Of course both leaders will need to bring back gifts for their families. We recommend a shopping trip to the Old Quarter, to pick up an Ao Dai costume for Melania from Hang Gai and Hang Bong streets or some lacquerware bowls for Ivanka from one of the stalls on Hang Trong or Ma May streets.

Kim, in turn, may wish to pick up some hand crafted propaganda posters with his own image in them from one of the shops on Nha Chung street.

On his train journey back home Kim should make a quick stop in Lao Cai and visit Sapa. The landscapes may remind him of his own land, but with a difference – Sapa is brimming with tourists. Kim could unwind in one of the fine hotels of Sapa.

While Khiri Travel hopes Trump and Kim sign a peace deal in Hanoi, for everyone else, Khiri Travel offers its own Hanoi Signature Experience here.
