Cali-Mex Thailand announces Grand Opening & Launch Party

Cali-Mex Thailand, Bangkok’s only Southern California style Mexican restaurant, is proud to announce the official launch of its first Thailand outlet, Cali-Mex Bar & Grill. The Hong Kong based restaurant chain is known for its menu of Californian style American food with a Mexican twist. A launch party will be held on Thursday 16 August, 2018 at the restaurant, located on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 22, from 09:00 to 02:00, featuring live music, food and drinks.

With 20 thriving locations in Hong Kong and China, the company has many years’ experience and success in the food and beverage industry. Cali-Mex Thailand Country Manager Mike Warde was enthusiastic about the local market’s growth potential: “Cali-Mex Thailand, envisages an expansion of up to 20 outlets in three years” he revealed, adding “There is a huge demand for quality casual dining in Bangkok… the Cali-Mex concept is individual and innovative”.

Elaborating on the Cali-Mex concept, Warde continued: “Our first location, Cali-Mex Bar & Grill on Sukhumvit soi 22, has informal sit-down dining with an extensive menu of Southern California-style Mexican dishes that suits all tastes… we emphasise value for money in a fun-loving easy-going atmosphere”, adding “Our Cali-Mex Taquerias are smaller venues with classic Mexican dishes and counter-style seating… Cali-Mex is unique with its Mexican twist on Southern California-style cuisine, bringing the freshest daily ingredients to the table, including our famous house-made tortillas”.

Expressing confidence in the Thailand ventures, Cali-Mex founder and CEO Jeffrey Moss said: “With the continuing success of our Hong Kong/China Cali-Mex Bar & Grills and Taquerias, I’m convinced that Cali-Mex Thailand, under Mike Warde, will produce great results for the Cali-Mex brand, because today modern dining is driven by healthier food choices and quality”.

Cali-Mex Bar & Grill Sukhumvit Soi 22 offers all the brand’s favourites: choose-your-filling burritos, garden-fresh salads, quesadillas, enchiladas, nachos and house-made guacamole, plus vegetarian options like the Venice Beach Vegan.

Also on the menu, a mouth-watering selection of burgers and hot-off-the-grill specialties like rib-eye steak, Fish & Chips, grilled Atlantic salmon and chicken Parmigiana make for difficult choosing, while dishes are clearly graded for spiciness levels from mild to super-hot. And Cali-Mex sources primary ingredients only from farms that are operated sustainably. But the “secret ingredient” of the unique Cali-Mex experience is the cool California vibe that blends American-style Mexican food with a welcoming, laidback ambience. Our carefully selected ingredients, flown in daily from overseas suppliers, are also part of our recipe for success, while a frequently-changing menu of specials are created in our state-of-the-art Cali-Mex Food Lab.

The trademark chain’s California-look décor motif features wooden and copper fittings and comfy booths approximately 100 sq.m space that comfortably accommodates around 80 customers.  Cali-Mex Bar & Grill is also the only restaurant in Bangkok to have their signature beer taps at each table which are custom-made and flown in from Canada

The company has plans for additional Cal-Mex locations, coming in 2018 to Silom (August); Sukhumvit Soi 11 (September) and Thonglor (to be announced).
