The MICHELIN Guide Thailand has recently joined forces with 25 MICHELIN Star, Bib Gourmand and MICHELIN Plate awarded restaurants in hosting the Red Spoon campaign – an initiative that aims to spread positive vibes to medical frontliners, needy communities, and restaurants amidst the Covid-19 crisis. The campaign covers only Bangkok and its vicinity; and will run for one month, from 1-31 July 2021.
Under this campaign, every order of the ‘Red Spoon’ menu*, carefully selected by each participating restaurant, is charged for two: one for self-consumption, and the other for donation to medical frontliners or needy communities. For a minimum single-receipt purchase of 650 Baht, the customer will receive one copy of The MICHELIN Guide Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket & Phang-Nga 2021, worth 650 Baht, for FREE!** After the campaign ends, The MICHELIN Guide will – on behalf of participating donors – deliver donated food freshly cooked according to the ordered menus to medical frontliners and needy communities.
All 25 participating restaurants in this campaign are listed in The MICHELIN Guide in Thailand 2021 – including Khao (One MICHELIN Star) and its “Gaeng Rawaeng” menu – turmeric curry with coconut milk and chicken thigh, packed with fragrant and flavorful spices; Phed Phed Bistro (Bib Gourmand) and its “Tum Chana” menu – a spicy noodle salad with pickled fish sauce and plenty of toppings like preserved pork sausage, pineapple roasted pork, water mimosa, squid tentacles, bamboo shoot, sweet corn, etc.; and Aesop (MICHELIN Plate) with its “Signature Aesop’s Mixed Grill” menu – a sumptuous meal consisting of chargrilled chicken, kofta souvlaki, pork souvlaki, grilled vegetables, Basmati rice, and pita bread.
