MICHELIN Plate Restaurant Yamazato Marks Japan’s Traditional Boys’ Festival

Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara and his team at Yamazato, MICHELIN Plate restaurant at The Okura Prestige Bangkok, celebrate Tango no Sekku — the annual traditional Japanese festival that honours boys and young men — with special Gozen lunch platters and a spectacular multi-course Kaiseki dinner from 1 – 31 May 2021.

Both Gozen lunch and Kaiseki Dinner are featuring seasonal specialities such as sea bream. The first Gozen lunch platter comprises an appetizer of smoked salmon with shrimp, a soup of scallop dumpling and shimeji mushroom, and a selection of succulent sashimi. The second platter offers tempura, a standout grilled dish of Spanish mackerel with butterbur and miso garnished with paprika, lotus root and pine nuts. Also excellent is a rice dish of sea bream with salmon roe and nori seaweed.

The multi-course Kaiseki dinner is a feast with highlights such as a simmered dish of sea bream, bamboo shoot, taro and butterbur, and a piquant offering of black cod fish with onion sauce, zucchini and fried onion. Dessert is a selection of refreshing fruits and mochi wrapped in oak leaf.

The Boy’s Festival promotion at Yamazato is available from 1 – 31 May 2021, lunch 11:30 – 14:30, dinner: 18:00 – 22:30, priced at Baht 1,600++ for Gozen lunch and Baht 4,700++ for Kaiseki dinner.
