Pimalai Resort & Spa, Krabi introduce spectacular diving programme

Pimalai Resort & Spa, the luxury resort surrounded by nature on Thailand’s Koh Lanta, has launched a new 3-night scuba diving programme that will allow guests to discover the breathtaking marine life of the Andaman Sea, including the majestic whale shark.

Located on Kantiang Bay, arguably one of Thailand’s best beaches, Pimalai was Koh Lanta’s first five-star resort and remains the place to be on this idyllic island. Spread across 40 hectares of lush hillside and beachfront land, this 121-room property has become favourite for A-listers and repeat visitors seeking a natural retreat, away from the tourist bustle of Thailand’s better-known islands.

Pimalai is inviting guests to experience this magical marine world in luxurious style with a special “Diving in Koh Haa” package from AU$1,950 (฿43,590) per couple for a Deluxe Room valid until 30 April 2019.

Package includes:

  • 3-nights’ accommodation with daily breakfast
  • Krabi Airport transfers
  • One day dive trip to Koh Haa* (two dives) including full set of dive equipment and National Marine Park entry fee
  • 3-course à la carte dinner at the resort’s signature Seven Seas Restaurant
  • 1-hour aroma massage at Pimalai Spa per person
  • Unlimited WiFi
  • Service charges and VAT

Literally meaning “Five Island”, Koh Haa is emerging as one of the Andaman Sea’s top dive spots, with 12 different underwater locations scattered around limestone karst islands, each offering its own unique attractions. The shallow, crystal clear waters of Koh Haa Lagoon are filled with a dazzling diversity of tropical marine life making it ideal for first-time divers. Alternatively, more experienced divers can head to sites such as The Chimney, which is home to a complex cave system and creatures such as sea snakes and lionfish. Other local residents include rare ghost pipefish, octopuses, manta rays and even the critically endangered hawksbill sea turtle.

The must-see whale sharks are frequent visitors to the Andaman Sea between February and May. These graceful giants of the ocean, which can grow up to 12 metres in length, are regular occurrence to Koh Haa.

“You can see so much in a single dive at Koh Haa,” commented Saffron Kiddy, founder and CEO of Scubafish. “The excellent visibility across all the dive spots means you can experience immaculate corals and an unusually wide variety of marine life, including some of the largest fish in the sea.”
