With the Evenings program taking centre stage, Renaissance properties are transformed into cultural curators, fostering surprise-and-delight moments both on and off the premises.

During the Global Day of Discovery, six remarkable properties in the Asia Pacific region will offer immersive experiences that transcend expectations. These properties will showcase the newly evolved Evenings at Renaissance program, captivating guests with unexpected passions and unscripted moments. Set to take place on May 18, and these events promise to create lasting memories.

At the Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, guests will immerse themselves in local traditions and contribute to social impact and ecotourism initiatives deeply rooted in the property’s surrounding area. Cultural curator Veronika Krasnasari will host a three-day celebration featuring engaging tours at the nearby ZeroWaste Center and captivating punchbowl rituals showcasing Bali’s unique flavours with renowned figures in Indonesia’s bar scene, such as Kiki Moka. The festivities will also include an in-depth discussion on Endek Bali, the island’s indigenous fabric, led by Agung Indra. A fashion show by local designer Dwi Iskandar featuring Endek-themed designs and a traditional 12-course Balinese Dinner using sustainably sourced, island-grown produce by Balinese Chef Wisnu Adiyatma will be among the highlights. Furthermore, guests will be treated to an enchanting performance by Gus Teja, a Balinese flute maestro. This initiative will be showcased at the Annual Global Day of Discovery Celebrations, where cultural curators will immerse guests in the vibrant spirit of their local communities.

As part of this immersive experience, Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong will take guests on a captivating journey through the historical heart of Asia’s cultural hotspot. The property’s Navigator will lead guided tours through the bustling neighbourhood of Wan Chai, unveiling hidden gems such as the Old Wan Chai Market, Blue House, and The Pawn. By nightfall, the hotel will transport the essence of old Hong Kong indoors, transforming the lower lobby and function room into a lively scene reminiscent of dai pai dongs or street food stalls. This unique setting will be complete with mini-bus signs, neon lights, and live performances of old Cantonese songs, allowing guests to relish the nostalgia of traditional Hong Kong.

Across the seas in Saigon, Renaissance Riverside Hotel will captivate guests with a Global Day of Discovery branded open-roof bus experience. By day, guests will have the opportunity to discover the distinct offerings of Saigon, including a Vietnamese coffee workshop, an authentic Vietnamese lunch gathering, a mesmerizing water puppetry performance, and a painting session with local artist Nguyen Tan Luc. As evening descends, the hotel will host the “Saigon Paradox Rooftop Party” on-site, featuring Sand Drawing Shadow, Traditional Instruments Performance, and Water Drum Performance, offering guests an extraordinary and unforgettable celebration.

Meanwhile, Renaissance Xiamen Hotel is set to pay homage to the intangible cultural heritage of Minnan during the Global Day of Discovery. Guests will be invited to embark on a holistic cultural journey, beginning with a visit to the Gulong Soy Sauce Cultural Park to immerse themselves in the ancient art of sauce-making. At the Tong’An Wu Zhaozhi Spring Rolls Restaurant, guests will participate in a hands-on DIY class, learning the secrets behind crafting this traditional delicacy. The Qi Bao Zhai will give guests a unique opportunity to try lacquer thread carving, a time-honoured craft. Additionally, guests will indulge in a tasting session at the Confucians Hall of Empereur Wulong Tea, savouring the flavours of this renowned tea. As night falls, the hotel entrance will be adorned with Minnan folk dwellings, treating guests to a captivating traditional Minnan-style opera and puppet show. The evening will be further enhanced by establishing a traditional Chinese market around the stage, offering an array of local delicacies and Evenings at Renaissance specialty cocktails.
