South African Chamber and Jabulani Celebrate

The South African-Thai Chamber of Commerce (SATCC) and Jabulani, festive South African Christmas brunch took place today at the Bistro 33 Restaurant in the heart of Bangkok.

The SATCC and Jabulani Club (South Africa’s social club for expats and friends of South Africa living in Thailand) brunch proved yet again why this annual event is one not to be missed.
Jabulani is the Zulu word for rejoice. Certainly an appropriate word for today’s activities, both indoor and outdoor in the cooler weather and bright sunshine of a Bangkok “winter”. (Weather-wise it’s my favourite time of year).
The event was personally overseen by Bistro 33’s Barry Shea providing a sumptuous buffet that was a big hit.

Sponsored by Siam BBQ Company who provided South African specialties such as Biltong (air-dried beef) and Boerewors.
Boerewors is a type of sausage which is an important and popular part of South African cuisine. The name is derived from the Afrikaans/Dutch words boer (farmer) and wors (sausage).
We were grateful for a great selection of wines provided by Bistro 33 and KWV. Fun, food, festivities and friendship were very much in evidence for all the family.
Graced by His Excellency Geoff and Carol Doidge, Embassy of the Republic of South Africa, Ambassador Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos and the board of SATCC led by Chairman Ragil Ratnam and members of the Jabulani Club led by President Linda Reay.

Lovely bunch of people and great food and wine (South African of course!).
