Students from Thailand invited to join Leadership Programme at Oxford University

For the first time in Thailand, high school students aged 12 – 16 years old are being offered an experience of a lifetime to live, learn, eat and play at the prestigious Lady Margaret Hall (LMH) of Oxford University in the United Kingdom.  This has been made possible through the cooperation between Global Entrepreneurship Network in Thailand (GEN Thailand), Lady Margaret Hall College, Oxford University and Youthfuel Sdn Bhd, Asia’s Official Programme Coordinator.

The 6-day “Mastering Leadership for Youth” programme, which will take place during            December 13 – 18, 2022, will not only empower participants to become leaders and change makers, but also they will be given an extraordinary opportunity to go into the heart of one of the world’s most celebrated universities to experience life as an Oxford undergraduate.  The programme itself will focus on public speaking and presentation skills, drama and theatre workshops, critical reasoning, informal logic workshops, and solving social problems with an aim to enhance students’ self confidence and team building.  Included in the programme will also be interesting and fun activities and excursions such as, an Oxford Walking Tour, the Oxford City Twilight Ghost Tour, ice skating, and the Harry Potter Warner Brothers’ Studio Tour.

Lady Margaret Hall will provide the perfect venue for students’ leadership skill development.  Established in 1879 with only 9 girls attending, LMH was the first college at Oxford to educate women, and only admitted men in 1979.  The college has now grown into a vibrant, interdisciplinary academic community set in a beautiful 12-acre site bordered by the University Parks and the River Cherwell.  LMH aspires to provide an inclusive experience to students from diverse backgrounds and from across the world.

The programme fee is THB 185,000, which does not include the cost of air tickets or 7% VAT, but does include full board at LMH, the 6-day course, tours and excursions. As only 40 places have been allocated to Thailand, interested students should apply as soon as possible in order to have plenty of time to process the visa for the UK.  Application deadline is Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
