THAI Provides Further Assistance to Stranded Passengers at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) provides further assistance to stranded passengers as a result of sudden closure of Pakistani airspace due to rising tension between Pakistan and India situation. THAI speedily transports those passengers to their destinations.

Mr. Sumeth Damrongchaitham, THAI President, said that about 4,000 passengers were stranded at Suvarnabhumi Airport after a sudden closure of Pakistani airspace on 27 February 2019. THAI expects to complete transporting those passengers through alternative flights within three days. THAI’s Ground Customer Services Department is assisting passengers with:

1.      Extra service area, where refreshments are available, with THAI staff readily available to assist and provide information at Departure Zone on Fourth floor, Suvarnabhumi Airport:

–        THAI ticket office

–        Premium Area for Royal First and Royal Silk passengers and ROP and Star Alliance Platinum and Gold cardholders.

–        Between Premium Area and Row H and Row J for economy passengers.

2.      Check-in counters for stranded passengers:

–        Counters A15-18 for flight information

–        Counter A19 for  seat reservation

–        Counters B7-B9 for check-in and ticketing services (for special flights at day-time)

THAI arrange two special flights on 1 March 2018 to accommodate 1,512 passengers.

1.      Flight TG9169 on the Bangkok-London route, operated with Boeing 777-300 which departed from Bangkok at 13.11 hours and is expected to arrive London at 19.40 hours (local time) and return flight TG9179 on the London-Bangkok route which is scheduled to depart from London at 21.00 hours (local time) and to arrive Bangkok at 15.25 hours (the following day).

2.      Flight TG9749  on the Bangkok-Moscow route, operated with Boeing 777-200ER which departed from Bangkok at 16.39 hours and is expected to arrive Moscow at 22.58 hours (local time) and return flight TG9759 on the Moscow-Bangkok route which is scheduled to depart from Moscow at 00.00 hours (local time) and to arrive Bangkok at 12.00 hours (the following day)
