The European Commission’s Directorate General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) is organising a three-day regional training session on EU rules applicable to the authorization and placing on the market of novel foods and traditional foods coming from non-EU countries in Bangkok, Thailand. This event takes place under the “Better Training for Safer Food” initiative.

18th – 21st February 2020, Holiday Inn Silom Bangkok Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand

The European Commission Directorate General for Health and Consumers is organizing a Regional Training session on EU rules for the “Better Training for Safer Food” program, a training on EU rules applicable to the authorization and placing on the market of novel foods and traditional foods coming from non-EU countries on 18-22 February 2020 at Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom meeting room.

The training will focus on increasing awareness and contribute to a better understanding and more efficient use of existing EU rules applicable. A group of five International and regional experts will deliver this training; it aims on improving on cooperation activities on novel food with non EU trade partners. This event  will bring together up to 34 representatives coming from 10 different countries located in Southeast Asia  (Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam). Moreover, this will be the first of a series of nine regional training session that will be held in 2020 and 20201 in Africa (Senegal and Ethiopia), Latin America (Argentina and Costa Rica), Asia (India, Thailand and China), Middle East (Jordan) and Europe (Moldova) under the BTSF initiative, expecting to reach 300 participants from 68 countries.
