The Slate Stimulates the Senses with Signature Floral Fragrances at Coqoon Spa

The Slate, the whimsical, art-inspired resort on Phuket’s secluded northwest shore, is inviting guests to be immersed in a multi-sensory experience at Coqoon Spa, its rejuvenating natural sanctuary. To enhance the soothing sensation of its therapies, each treatment suite at this spectacular wellness centre now features its own floral scent, transporting guests into a world of tropical bliss.

Coqoon Spa features seven private suites including The Nest, which appears to be woven organically into the resort’s native trees, seemingly defying gravity. Upon entering each of these luxurious therapy rooms, guests will be greeted with the soft scent of a local flower, instantly inducing a sense of utter relaxation. These exotic aromas have been specially selected for their healing qualities, creating an enchanting ambience for guests to enjoy a wide range of rejuvenating rituals.

The signature scent of The Slate is white champaka, which was personally chosen by the hotel’s co-founder and owner, Krystal Prakaikaew Na-Ranong (or “Khun Moo” as she is known to her friends) to reflect the tropical essence of Phuket. This fragrance now greets guests in The Nest, creating a wonderfully relaxing and revitalising atmosphere – perfect after a long flight. Coqoon Spa also showcases a series of massages, scrubs and wraps that use organic champaka oil.

Other treatment suites feature floral fragrances picked for their therapeutic properties. Ylang-ylang, the yellow, star-shaped tropical flower exudes a smooth and rich aroma that is known for its ability to calm the mood and evoke romance, while jasmine is a sweet-smelling flower that has been shown to offer a variety of health benefits, treating everything from depression to infections. Religiosa meanwhile, is famous for its gentle fruity scent and can often be seen in Thai homes and temples.

Frangipani has a sophisticated fragrance that is often compared to roses, with fruity notes of pineapple, citrus and bananas to induce a state of enhanced happiness, while kasalong is a pure white, flower that has a similar aroma to jasmine and has become a popular ingredient in many skincare products due to is reputed its healing powers, including the ability to reduce stress.

These scents enhance every treatment at Coqoon Spa, including its two signature therapies. The Nest Rebirth Massage is a fully personalised experience which lets guests enjoy a mesmerising massage tailored to their specific needs and body type, while the Coqoon Awakening Massage is an exquisite full four-handed technique that elevates the senses to new levels of serenity, as two highly skilled spa professionals work in unison to penetrate the body’s layers and create a deep feeling of tranquility.
