The St. Regis Bangkok Presents An Evening Of Philanthropy And Gastronomy

The St. Regis Bangkok hosted the 6th St. Regis Charity Gala recently, a glittering charity gala dinner event attended by over 200 philanthropists and VIP guests from across the country.

A total of THB 8,135,000 was raised through the evening’s generous bids, donations and table buyouts, surpassing the THB 7 million raised last year.

Since its inception in 2013, The St. Regis Bangkok Charity Gala has become one of highlight fixtures in Bangkok’s social calendar, and has raised over THB 47 million for charities selected by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

“We are proud to look back on the positive impact we have made through our donations to date, which only serve to strengthen our commitment to support our kingdom’s deserving communities,” said William E. Heinecke, Founder and Chairman of Minor International PCL, the owning company of The St. Regis Bangkok.

For The St. Regis Bangkok Charity Gala 2020, the Astor Ballroom on the 14th floor of the hotel was transformed into a glamorous venue for the glittering “Winter Soirée”, and The St. Regis Bangkok culinary team presented a specially crafted five-course menu highlighting delicate seasonal ingredients to complement the evening’s theme.

Guests were treated to an exciting line-of entertainment, including performances by internationally renowned Suanplu Chorus and crossover band VieTrio. As the highlight performance of the evening, the hotel presented celebrated singer/songwriter Ronan Keating, exclusively in town to guest perform at The St. Regis Bangkok Charity Gala.

In the spirit of charity, Ronan Keating graciously offered an encore song for bids, which received a pledge of THB 600,000 for “Life is a Rollercoaster” for charity.

A charity auction on the evening showcased nine one-of-a-kind luxury items and unique experiences, with all proceeds raised this year to be donated in its entirety to the Foundation of Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability under the Patronage of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

“Every year, I am profoundly moved by the generosity shown by the residents of this magnificent city, who open their hearts to those with less opportunities within the community,” said Klaus Christandl, General Manager of The St. Regis Bangkok.
