On behalf of Thai Gypsum Products Public Company Limited, the first gypsum manufacturer in Thailand and innovator of the leading brand “Gyproc”, Apirak Chaisiripanit, Plant Manager, Laem Chabang Plant, recently accepted the “Happy Workplace Award” from Pairojana Meethawee, General Manager of Thai Metal Packaging. The award was bestowed on the company for Gyproc’s industry-leading Laem Chabang manufacturing facility for its commitment to increasing and maintaining employee productivity and performance and focusing on workplace innovation.
“Gyproc creates innovative materials every day to enhance the well-being of people everywhere, and this starts with our commitment to the well-being of our employees,” said Apirak. “We’re thrilled to be recognized as a ‘Happy Workplace’ in Thailand. At Gyproc, we believe that a feeling of happiness derives from work. This, in turn, needs to be backed up by a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace environment that minimizes stress. Investing in a happy workplace pays off for everyone, starting with employees working in an environment in which they can succeed both personally and professionally. Being happy at work is crucial both to the employee and the company.
“Supporting conditions that make happy people leads to a lot of good things such as increased productivity, quality, sales, customer satisfaction, creativity, innovation, adaptation, flexibility, and decreased loss, absenteeism, stress for workers, accidents and occupational diseases.”
Thai Gypsum Products Public Company Limited has long been known for enacting a business model squarely focused on sustainability for both the organization and its employees. The “Happy Workplace Award” given by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, a leader in recognizing good business and labor practices, is a true honor reflective of this, as well as Gyproc’s sustained efforts to foster an engaging workplace for employees where innovative ideas are valued and encouraged.
The honor also echoes the latest accolade given to Saint-Gobain Thailand earlier this year, when Gyproc parent’s company bagged its third “Top Employers Thailand” award, which testifies to Saint-Gobain’s long-term strategy on valuing each and every employee, backed up by procedures, policies and environment conducive to long-term success – and happiness.
