La-Z-Boy Asia Co., Ltd., the recliner business leader well trusted by dealers in over 18 countries across Asia, recently donated four recliners, La-Z-Boy 1PT-520-Norman and 1PT-532-Harbor Town, worth 227,600 baht and 100,000 baht cash to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Thailand at Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health. The activity aimed to give back to society, express love and care, and enhance the quality of life of the family of pediatric patients who needed extra care. On this occasion, Mr. Dhanakorn Kasetrsuwan, President, and Mr. Ratharuj Manaswatcharapong, General Manager of La-Z-Boy Asia Co., Ltd., as the company’s representatives, received a warm welcome from Mr. Adisai Pattatang, Managing Director of Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, and Miss Kittaya Oonsakon, Associate Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities Thailand, at the Ronald McDonald House, Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, on the 6th floor of Mahitalathibet Building.

The management, intending to give back to society, initiated this activity, which has been implemented throughout these years. This time, the activity focused on families and children who need mental and physical care under the difficult circumstance of COVID-19. As a result, the company donated cash and recliners to help those staying in the Houses relax physically and mentally. Both footrests and backrests can also be adjusted with the electrical system. The company chose to donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities Thailand, operating under the policy of the Ronald McDonald House Committee and Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health. Providing child-friendly hospital services, the foundation takes care of pediatric patients in all dimensions, physically and mentally, and promotes learning and continued development. The activity aligned with the social activities La-Z-Boy has long implemented globally with the Ronald McDonald House Foundation.

Mr. Keith Wilson, La-Z-Boy President, International of La-Z-Boy Incorporated said: “La-Z-Boy has been a proud supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) for more than ten years, starting from our headquarters in the USA and then reaching further throughout our territories worldwide. I am delighted to see La-Z-Boy Asia continuing this support for Ronald McDonald House in Thailand with their donation of furniture and funds. RMHC does very important work in keeping families together and close to the care and services they need. We hope the La-Z-Boy chairs will bring the families who use them some comfort during a difficult time in their lives.”

Mr. Dhanakorn Kasetrsuwan, President of La-Z-Boy Thailand Co., Ltd. and La-Z-Boy Asia Co., Ltd., added: “… Everyone knows that the world, including La-Z-Boy, has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, thanks to the timely adjustment of the business plan, marketing, and operational methods, and the dedication of all La-Z-Boy Asia staff, our sales met the targets. For this reason, we would like to give back to society by donating our recliners to the children’s families through the Ronald McDonald House Thailand Foundation. We truly hope that they can feel our love and care in addition to the physical comfort when using the recliners. The activity was in line with La-Z-Boys’ activities around the world. This is the foundation I would like to recommend to those who care for society. …”

Mr. Ratharuj Manaswatcharapong, General Manager of La-Z-Boy Asia Co., Ltd., revealed: “… Last year, we adjusted the strategy and operations in response to the global situation, focusing on creating a digital experience to drive forward our business and dealers’ across Asia as much as possible. We organized “La-Z-Boy Asia Virtual Conference 2020”, the first live conference of recliner business in the Asia Pacific. Distributors in over 18 countries across the Asia region participated in this virtual event to update the movement. The company launched the very first La-Z-Boy Virtual Gallery using digital transformation in response to changing consumer behavior. We virtually brought a showroom to the customers’ houses where they could enjoy a 360-degree virtual reality experience anytime, anywhere with smartphones or VR glasses. They could then choose product models, sizes, and colors before placing an order with a dealer. By doing so, they could receive all information required without even making a trip to the physical showroom and avoid physical contact. The dealers could also benefit from the lower inventory costs.
La-Z-Boy would also provide a full-scale e-commerce platform to expand the market to an online channel. To serve the consumers in New Normal, La-Z-Boy Asia would focus on innovation, increase production capacity, and introduce four major campaigns. Under the concept of “Beyond the Recliner”, the company offers a superior experience that customers have ever experienced.

With the success of the La-Z-Boy Asia team and the dealers who still stand strong in this challenging time, we would like to pass our care to society and show our support by donating four of our recliners and cash to four Houses of Ronald McDonald House Foundation Thailand, namely Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health (Children’s Hospital), Nopparat Rajathanee Hospital, Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, and Siriraj Hospital. We hope that the donation will help families of pediatric patients who stay in those houses feel happier and more relaxed.

In terms of business, we remain committed to developing ourselves by implementing online activities and introducing new products and services that best respond to the global situation and customer needs across Asia this year and the following years. So, please stay tuned. …”
