With the ongoing India-Thailand air travel bubble and further relaxation of Thailand’s travel entry rules, Indians are flocking to the Land of Smiles.

Latest YouGov research commissioned by Airbnb reveals that more than 70 percent of Indians are excited about being able to travel internationally, and almost 50 percent are considering travel to Asia Pacific destinations – with Thailand amongst the most searched destinations in the region.

Many Indians are excited about travelling internationally again, and are looking to make their next international trip a reality very soon. 75 percent of Indians surveyed report having plans to travel internationally in the foreseeable future, with more than a third planning to do this within the next six months. Almost three-quarters of working Indians say they’d consider combining work and travel, underscoring the fundamental changes in how people are living and working since the pandemic.

“As border restrictions gradually ease across many countries in the region, we’re seeing a lot of enthusiasm for cross-border travel. After being unable to travel abroad for so long, travellers are excited to take that long-awaited overseas trip – something we’ve seen reflected in searches on Airbnb. Thailand has always been one of the most popular destinations for Indians and the Thai Government’s recent lifting of all testing requirements pre-travel and on arrival is great news for both Indian travellers and Thai tourism. We’re incredibly excited to welcome travellers and make their much awaited international trip a memorable one. We will continue to work together with the Thai government to rebuild tourism and help ensure more local communities can benefit from the return of travel than ever before,” said Amanpreet Bajaj, General Manager, India, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
