At the end of every Lunar year, thousands of lanterns are lit aglow and gently pushed into rivers and lakes with quiet wish for good luck in the new year during Loy Krathong – the annual Thai Festival of Lights, one of Thailand’s most well-known festivals. This November, guests at The Siam will be invited to experience the charming Loy Krathong ceremony at the beautiful garden, along the banks of the beautiful Chao Phraya River.
The Loy Krathong Experience features carefully curated activities that showcase the very best of Thai culture, cuisine and way of life. This includes a guided visit to the Thai Live Market to select ingredients for dinner at Chon Thai House – meticulously prepared by Chef Damri Muksombat and his team, a riverside traditional Thai performance and a Krathong making workshop where guests will have the opportunity to learn about the origin of the Krathong and make their very own lantern to release along the Chao Phraya River after sunset.
The Loy Krathong Experience (THB 5,500++ per person) starts from 6.30pm on Thursday, 22 November 2018, and is open to both in-house guests and public visitors. Reservations are required.
