Malaysia Airlines Announces ‘Ultimate Flexibility’ Ticket Change Policy Amid Covid-19 Outrbeak

Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, Malaysia Airlines has announced its ‘Ultimate Flexibility’ ticket change policy to passengers who may wish to make new bookings or have done so prior.

Malaysia Airlines is offering the following flexibility options globally:

• Unlimited date changes free of charge.

• Flexibility of destination changes however fare and tax differences apply.

• Flexibility in “GO SHOW” for earlier/later flights on the same day of departure on the same route for travel from 13 March to 31 May 2020.

Effective immediately, passengers holding Malaysia Airlines (232) tickets that has confirmed travel from and/or to any Malaysia Airlines online destinations with or without connections, will have the option to take advantage of the following; • 232 tickets issued on and before – 31 March 2020. • Any rebooking must be made on or before 31 May 2020. • All rebooked travel date must be completed by 31 Dec 2020. • This policy applies to all tickets issued with confirmed reservation on MH 232 stock.

With regards to re-booking options, unlimited free changes will be permitted within the original ticket validity. However, revised travel dates must be rebooked and completed as per criteria listed above and subject to flight availability of original Origin & Destination.

Deferred travel and/or new travel dates must be booked in the original ticketed fare booking class. Rebooking in an alternative booking classwill result in the ticketed fare will be re-assessed and any additional fare/tax differences will be collected. “NO SHOW” fees will not be waived.

Flexibility to change or reroute to alternative Origin & Destination will not incur change/service fees as long as the new routing is on MH operated flights only. If the new routing results in a higher fare, fare/tax differences will be collected. Any unutilized balance will be forfeited and no refund will be provided. “NO SHOW” fees will not be waived.

No fees will be charged for “GO SHOW”. However, “GO SHOW” will be allowed for earlier/later flights on the same day of departure on the same route. This option will be permitted in all ticketed fare classes for departure effective 13 March 2020 to 31 May 2020.
