Great Wall Motor Unveils State-of-the-art Autonomous Driving Navigation System ‘NOH’ and Introduces Latest Battery Technology, Reinforcing Position as Global Intelligent Technology Company

Great Wall Motor (GWM) constantly elevates its world-class technological excellence through innovative technology, and has unveiled ‘NOH’ (Navigation On HPilot), a high-speed intelligent pilot-assisted driving system as well as introducing the latest self-developed Dayu battery technology for the first time.

As a company under GWM, Haomo.AI recently released ‘NOH’ (Navigation on HPilot), a high-speed, intelligent, pilot-assisted driving system supported by HPilot 3.0. NOH is equipped with an ultra-high computing capacity chip with AI capacity of 360T and a CPU computing capacity of 200K + DMIPS. It is also equipped with two laser radars, twelve cameras, and 5 millimeter-wave radars, realizing the safety redundancy of the entire assisted driving perception system to the greatest extent. NOH can realize such main functions as auto lane change and overtaking, traffic light recognition and vehicle control, complex intersection passing, and unprotected turns in the urban environment following a driving route provided by navigation. It can also deal with complex urban traffic scenarios such as short-distance cutting-in, roundabouts, tunnels, and overpasses. GWM vehicles supported with NOH will be officially launched in Chinese market soon.

Meanwhile, the first GWM self-developed new technology Dayu battery, which has more than 60 patents, is ready to provide safe and sound journeys to users in all dimensions under the concept of ‘turning blockage into sparse’. The technology has built a comprehensive safety matrix and adopted innovative design in many aspects, including isolating heat sources, distributing heat flow, high-temperature insulation, automatic fire extinguishing, and intelligent cooling, etc. At the same time, the battery technology avoids the safety disadvantages and hidden dangers in the development process from the source and fundamentally ensures battery safety for consumers.

The SVOLT company of GWM has also launched the innovative, square-laminated, ternary battery. Compared with the same type of winding process battery, this latest innovative battery has a 5% increase in energy density, a 10% increase in cycle life, and a 15% reduction in cost. These technologies will be applied to GWM vehicles in the near future, reflecting the company’s commitment to putting priority on customers.

According to the data released by Autopat, the number of disclosed automotive patents in China maintained steady growth in 2021. In the list provided by Autopat, GWM has 3,710 disclosed patents and 3,256 granted patents, ranking first among China’s private automobile enterprises. In the field of new energy vehicles, GWM has 1,301 disclosed patents and 914 granted patents, ranking first among China’s automobile enterprises. This provides a strong guarantee for GWM to transform into a ‘global intelligent technology company’.”

GWM is also continuously strengthening its overall arrangement of intelligent core technologies. Recently, the base for the production of the core intelligent components of GWM’s vehicles was officially agreed with a total investment of RMB 3.1 billion. This base will be in Huishan District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China and operated by Exquisite Automotive Systems Company Limited, an independently operated wholly-owned subsidiary of GWM. After this base is completed and put into operation, it will realize a production capacity of 1.1 million sets of EAS (air suspension systems) and 2.6 million sets of EDC (electronically controlled suspension systems), providing an estimated annual output value of RMB 10 billion and will help create more than 1,000 jobs. Compared with traditional suspension systems, the active suspension can intelligently adjust the vehicle posture in real-time according to the specific road conditions, and it can improve the comfort, maneuvering stability, safety, and passing ability of the vehicle, bringing customers the ultimate driving experience.

GWM will continue to respond to people’s needs and win consumers’ hearts continuously with three technology brands: GWM L.E.M.O.N., GWM TANK, and COFFEE INTELLIGENT.
