WHA Group Aims to Enhance Life Quality of Thai Youths by Granting Scholarships to Work-Study Vocational Students for 11th Consecutive Year

WHA Corporation PCL. (WHA Group), in collaboration with Rayong’s Ban Khai Technical College, recognizing the importance of promoting talented youths who may lack financial resources, aims to facilitate a better future and career growth for them.

For the 11th consecutive year, it is providing scholarships to work-study vocational students for Vocational Certificate, Diploma/High Vocational Certificate, and universities. Since the start of the project, WHA Group has given out scholarships to 102 students. These scholarships will help promote educational opportunities for the youths and foster labor development as the key to drive the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) development project. WHA Group also helps coordinate with customers in WHA industrial estates by providing opportunities for these scholarship students to take an internship during their studies.

Today, Thailand’s labor market, including industrial estates, needs more labor and most of the quality workforce are students from vocational colleges and universities. However, many talented students may lack funds to further their studies. Hence, WHA Group considers that the scholarships for these youths can help develop and build a successful career as well as driving high-quality labor for the Thai labor market in the future. More importantly, WHA Group is involved in nurturing talented youths who will be ready to drive businesses in various factories in WHA industrial estates.

Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, Chairman and Group CEO of WHA Corporation PCL, said, “WHA Group is proud to take part of a great project like this and would like to thank all the companies that participated in this special vocational training program, which gives students the opportunity to experience and practice professional skills in the real world. In line with WHA’s mission to create an ecosystem in the industrial estate, this program not only helps the affiliated company management teams to pass on knowledge and develop labor skills to students but also a door to accept these students for a full-time job in the future if they have passed the skill requirements. In addition, this could help develop communities in the Eastern Seaboard area as well as enhancing Thailand’s industrial growth. Thus, Thailand will be one of the top industrial countries in the region.”

WHA Group, Thailand’s leader in logistics and industrial estates, utilities & power and digital platform, sees the benefits of the bilateral vocational education program to students, affiliated companies, local communities and to the country from developing skills of the people. The scholarship students can experience hands-on work and find out whether they like what they are doing, along with learning theory in college. This also allows them to apply modern equipment and technologies from working in real life.

In addition, this program promotes the education of Thai youths which is a great foundation to develop country’s economy and social aspects. Thus, this is an important mission of WHA Group in social sustainability under a long-term principle of corporate governance.

Mr. Prateep Chulalert, School Director of Ban Khai Technical College said, “Ban Khai Technical College’s vision is to provide our students with good jobs and with the necessary knowledge after graduating, so they can move forward and develop the country as well as passing on this knowledge to the next generation. This will greatly drive the growth of the industry and the well-being of people in the society.”

Mr. Yossapon Inchan, a teacher from Ban Khai Technical College said, “I would like to wish all scholarship students to stay committed, diligent and maintain their intention to continue learning and grow as good citizens for the society and the country. I would also like to thank WHA Group for offering these scholarships to our students, as this provides great opportunities for them to further their studies as well as to get an internship with WHA-affiliated companies, which will help them build the experience needed to be successful in the future.”

Mr. Arthit Damkrathok, a student representative who received a scholarship from WHA Group, said, “I am delighted, proud and honored to be given such a great opportunity. I am currently studying manufacturing and have a goal to work abroad in the future to receive a good income to support my family back home. I would like to thank WHA again for providing me and my friends with these scholarships which will help create fundamentals for our success in the future. I will continue to study hard and try to achieve what I have dreamed of.”
