“Whoscall The Safety Station” campaign wins 12 awards from the AdMan Awards & Symposium 2022: Using creativity to win against scammers

Whoscall, a leading anti-fraud caller ID mobile application that offers caller identification services developed by Gogolook Co., Ltd., powered by the creativity from its creative agency SOUR Bangkok, together with its media partner VGI, claimed a total of 12 awards at the Adman Awards & Symposium 2022 organized by the Advertising Association of Thailand.

The awards are given to advertisements that display outstanding creative communications messaging strategies.

“Whoscall The Safety Station” is a campaign that utilized the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) as the main mode of communications with the public in order to blend into the lifestyle of Thais in Bangkok. With the aim to warn Thai people to be aware of fraudsters, Whoscall personalized the announcement message of each train station on the BTS as well as the in-train announcement to a warning message for commuters to beware of scammers. The sound of each station also changes along with the digital signage seamlessly along with each advertising content and message tailored for 24 different stations all over Bangkok.

Titinun Suttinaraphan, Regional Marketing Director, Gogolook, said, “Whoscall is proud to be the driven force to raise awareness for Thais to be aware (รู้ทันทุกสาย) and get ahead of scammers. We’d like to express our gratitude to Adman and the Advertising Association of Thailand for recognizing Whoscall’s initiative to be the essential application that every mobile should have to protect our users from mobile scammers and dirty tricks by using creativity as a tool for combat. The initiative would not have been executed to such an effective degree without the help of our creative partners, SOUR Bangkok, and our media partner VGI, who helped bring our messaging strategy to life in innovative and creative ways.”

Of the 12 awards that “Whoscall The Safety Station” Campaign claimed, it won one Gold award for Media (Use of Audio Brand), and four Silver awards for Experience & Activation (Guerrilla Marketing & Stunts), Media (Corporate Purpose & Social Responsibility), Media (Innovative Use of Media), and Radio (Innovative Use of Audio). Additionally, the campaign also claimed a total of seven Bronze awards, including a prestigious Bronze award under the Ad That Works (Effective Communication) category, which is given to advertisements that make a real impact in society. Other Bronze awards fall under: Design (Use of Print & Outdoor), Experience & Activation (Product & Service), Experience & Activation (Sponsorship & Brand Partnership), OOH (Non-Traditional Billboard & Transit), Public Relations Plan (Sponsorship & Brand Partnership), and Radio & Audio (Corporate purpose and social responsibility).

“We will continue to strengthen Whoscall’s anti-fraud service with regular updates to effectively protect Thai users against fraud and scammers”, added Titinun.
